Calculation and assumptions
Estimated margin = lots × contract size × market price × quote-to-account conversion ÷ leverage. This linear model does not include tiered leverage, fixed margin, hedged positions or temporary increased-margin requirements.
Where a quote-to-account conversion field is available, enter how much one unit of the instrument’s quote currency is worth in your account currency. There is no automatic exchange-rate feed. Check contract sizes, volume limits, pip conventions and applicable charges in your broker’s symbol specifications.
These are estimates, not order instructions. Fees, spreads, slippage, price gaps and changing conversion rates can increase actual losses. Margin availability is not a safe position-size limit.
Frequently asked questions
Will my broker require this exact margin?
Not necessarily. Tiered leverage, fixed margin and special conditions may change the amount required.
Are the example values live market data?
No. Inputs are editable examples, not live quotes or broker specifications. Check current prices and contract terms with your broker.
Can I use this estimate as an order instruction?
No. The tool is educational and does not place trades. Trading costs, conversion rates and price moves can change the actual result.
