Position Size Calculator
Calculate a position from your balance and stop-loss distance.
Example values are editable, not current market prices or broker specifications.
Ready when you are.
Review the inputs, then calculate. Nothing is sent to a broker.
How this calculator works
Risk budget = balance × risk %. Raw lots = risk budget ÷ (stop distance × contract size × quote-to-account conversion). The displayed lot is rounded down to your volume step and capped at your maximum. If the minimum lot exceeds the risk budget, the result is zero.
For cross-currency calculations, enter how much one unit of the instrument’s quote currency is worth in your account currency. There is no automatic exchange-rate feed. Contract sizes, volume limits and pip conventions must be checked in your broker’s symbol specifications.
These are estimates, not order instructions. Fees, spreads, slippage, price gaps and changing conversion rates can increase actual losses. Margin availability is not a safe position-size limit.
